Our lab is interested in understanding how underlying bacterial cell-cell interactions shape larger macroscopic population dynamics and microbial community structure. Our current focus centers on how bacteria use contact-dependent secretion systems to communicate and compete with each other.

We are a member of the Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology, a a joint institute between the Department of Structural and Molecular Biology at University College London and the School of Natural Sciences at Birkbeck, University of London.
